Role Overview

As an Automation Engineer you will own workflow automation at dotSwan. You'll build and maintain n8n workflows that power our internal operations and client products, integrate AI tools, and collaborate with the engineering team to automate complex technical and business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation workflows using n8n

• Maintain, improve, and troubleshoot existing workflows

• Integrate APIs, web services, and third-party platforms

• Monitor workflows and ensure reliability, performance, and scalability

• Implement error handling, logging, and recovery strategies

• Collaborate with internal teams to automate business and technical processes

• Adopt and integrate AI tools and services into workflows

• Write custom logic using JavaScript when needed

• Maintain clear documentation for all workflows and systems

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with n8n

• Solid software engineering foundation

• Experience working with APIs (REST, Webhooks, OAuth)

• Experience with JSON and data transformation

• Ability to design scalable and maintainable workflows

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Experience integrating AI tools and APIs

• Ability to work independently and take full ownership

• Good English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Strong JavaScript knowledge

• Experience with Docker or similar tooling

• Background in DevOps concepts

• Familiarity with queue-based systems
